As Unit Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Electrical Engineering Unit (EEU) as part of the Unit Operations Support Team. You will provide essential administrative support across the Unit, including general administrative projects, coordinating Group activities, supporting workforce planning, and managing project documentation.
A key focus of this role is managing procurement activities, including processing requisitions, work orders, and purchases through the U4BW system, and maintaining accurate records of orders, receipts, and invoices. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Unit’s SharePoint sub-sites for document storage, libraries, and databases.
You will be expected to deliver timely, efficient, accurate, and professional support to staff, while upholding and exemplifying UKAEA’s values. This is your chance to contribute to cutting-edge fusion energy projects and make a real impact!
Additional Responsibilities:
* Communicate with suppliers about requisitions, Purchase Orders, deliveries, and returns, ensuring value for money and generating new supplier requests as needed.
* Coordinate with internal stores on deliveries/collections and support the Unit’s service request system, ensuring proper allocation to teams.
* Arrange external training for Unit teams, process payments through U4BW, and manage Outlook calendars for diary, meeting, and holiday scheduling.
* Organise and distribute meeting minutes, providing general administrative support to ensure efficient task management across the Unit.
* Promote UKAEA’s values, supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion, while following policies and completing tasks as requested by your manager.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience in administration, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn new IT systems.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
* Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a professional and personable approach.
* A proactive, "can-do" attitude, capable of developing Microsoft SharePoint sites and other intranet platforms (training will be provided).
