JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Applications Analyst (M365) plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft M365 Applications. Working with key stakeholders within the business to identify opportunities where the Microsoft M365 toolset can be implemented to drive increased collaboration, improved operational efficiencies, and better compliance. They should drive productivity in my client through new technologies while maintaining a critical focus on data security.
In Depth Knowledge & Solution Evaluation/Documentation - The role holder is required to maintain an in-depth knowledge of all Microsoft Applications available to my client within the licensing structure. The Senior Applications Analyst needs to constantly evaluate the applicability of new and existing application features, ensuring they align with my client's goals. All research on features must be well documented in a way that allows content creators to utilize the applications effectively.
Security Compliance - The Senior Applications Analyst must stay abreast of ever-changing Information Security principles and best practices, to ensure sensitive data is safeguarded and compliance maintained.
Effective Communication - The role holder is a conduit between Technology and Operations; using effective communication to translate technical concepts into clear, non-technical language, fostering collaboration and understanding.
Independence & Teamwork - A high level of autonomy is provided to the Senior Applications Analyst. They must balance independent work with effective collaboration to ensure multiple projects and products are managed simultaneously.
Project & Change Management - The role holder must demonstrate experience in both project and change management to drive successful implementations and Application management.
Business Analysis - The Senior Applications Analyst (M365) takes a lead on internal and external business analysis, documenting clear functional requirements for large-scale changes to ensure that they can be designed/translated into a technical specification for build/delivery.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Microsoft 365 Applications Management
2. Design, develop, implement, and continuously improve a group-wide SharePoint Intranet.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and design effective solutions that meet customer objectives while identifying any enhancements or technical innovations.
4. Develop, control, and maintain SharePoint administration (site builds, permissions, access, and new requests).
5. Maintain my client's Document Management System (digitalizing documents lifecycle from creation through approval to archiving).
6. Design and implement SharePoint site architecture, including site collections, lists, libraries, and content types.
7. Provide technical expertise and support to end-users, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal performance of M365 applications. Facilitate training on M365 applications and ensure appropriate documentation is available where a new solution is introduced, configuring it into the my client Microsoft Learning Centre.
8. Ensure compliance with security policies, data protection regulations, and industry standards in all Microsoft development activities.
9. Deploy changes using PowerShell and PnP PowerShell, including development of ground-up scripting across Microsoft 365 services to automate manual tasks.
10. Monitor, document, and test new product releases (new features/application changes/new products) and deploy where needed into my client's deployment channels to ensure safe deployment of any new features/workflows/interfaces, requesting assistance/resource from other teams as required.
11. Review processes with internal stakeholders, encouraging adoption of relevant advanced functionality as it becomes available and identifying efficient ways of working.
12. Work closely with the BI team on data models and automations built and ingested into SharePoint, understanding the integration with MSSQL server for higher-level analytics.
JOB DIMENSIONS - KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The post holder will be expected to build relationships with internal and external customers, as well as external suppliers, to support the smooth running of all systems operated and supported within the remit of the role. They will communicate with the user community via telephone, e-mail, and face-to-face.
The role holder has autonomy to challenge managers and staff to drive change in line with best/safe practice; to recommend processes at the unit level and to halt any processes considered unsafe pending discussion with the appropriate senior manager.
JOB DIMENSIONS - DIRECT/INDIRECT REPORTS AND FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
People Management Responsibility: This role will have direct line management responsibility for a number of Analysts and/or Specialists within the team.
Financial / Budgetary Responsibility: This role has no budgetary responsibility.
Decision Making Responsibility: General daily running responsibilities in relation to all applications & clinical systems operated & utilized by my client.
