Job Title: Refrigeration Project Manager Location: Hybrid Reports to: Head of Refrigeration Projects/Director Department: Refrigeration Projects Type: Full-time Salary: £45,000-£50,000 Job Summary: The Refrigeration Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing refrigeration projects according to strict deadlines and budgets. This role involves coordinating with various teams, managing resources, and ensuring all project objectives are achieved. The Project Manager must have a strong technical understanding of refrigeration systems and demonstrate excellent organizational and leadership skills. The role also includes liaising with clients, ensuring their requirements are met, and delivering high-quality work. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management, engineers, and clients. Resource Management: Identify and secure resources needed to complete the project, including materials, manpower, and equipment, ensuring their effective utilization. Timeline Management: Create detailed project schedules and manage timelines, ensuring all phases of the refrigeration installation are completed on time. Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within the financial scope and controlling costs effectively. Team Leadership: Oversee the work of project engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring that they are clear on their roles and responsibilities and that project tasks are completed to a high standard. Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges during the project and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions and avoid project delays or budget overruns. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, and ensure safe working practices are adhered to on-site. Quality Control: Monitor and inspect work throughout the project lifecycle to ensure it meets the company’s quality standards and technical specifications. Reporting: Provide regular reports on project progress, budget status, and any issues to senior management and other stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to improve project processes, enhance operational efficiency, and implement best practices in refrigeration project management. Key Skills and Qualifications: Experience: 10 years of experience in project management, specifically within the refrigeration or HVAC industry. Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical systems, construction management, or a related field. Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2) are a plus. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of refrigeration systems and installation processes, including mechanical and electrical aspects. Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and managing budgets effectively. Leadership: Experience leading teams of engineers and technicians, with the ability to motivate, manage performance, and resolve conflicts. Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with clients, senior management, and project teams effectively. Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively under pressure. Budgeting & Cost Control: Experience in managing project budgets and controlling project costs while maintaining profitability.
