The Estate Manager is a technical role and provides expert advice on estate management, implements best practice, identifies risk and manage compliance with legal, and health & safety requirements, ensuring Homes England meets its statutory and legal obligations. Job description You will be joining our highly skilled and experienced team which forms part of the larger national Estates Management Team of 24 people, who are committed to making positive change in how the Agencys assets are managed and ensure a safe and compliant estate. Julie is dedicated to delivering a first-class customer service, resolving issues informally wherever possible, and taking a positive and creative approach to estate management issues. He believes in working in a collaborative/flexible way to foster good decision making and problem solving within the team. Working with key stakeholders and a professional estate management team you will ensure efficient, consistent, and effective resolution of management issues and have the opportunity to help create an agile and proactive estate management function. You will be involved at all stages of the development process from acquisition through to disposal. This will include contribution at pre acquisition stage, peer assessment and contribution at approval stages. The role will support the delivery of key strategic projects around the Agencys asset portfolio. There are some exciting projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the estate management offering. Person specification Whilst our day job is to deliver a high quality and consistent service to our stakeholders on estate management, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve performance and innovate. Educated to a relevant surveying degree level and, ideally, with a recognised professional qualification (e.g. RICS), you will be experienced in commercial and/or rural estate management and will be comfortable supporting the Acquisition, Delivery and Disposal Teams in resolving complex estate management issues. The aim is to deliver a professional estate service to the Homes England vacant and tenanted land and property portfolio which includes high risk sites, brownfield, industrial, commercial, agricultural land, and other green estates. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding, supported by evidence of continued professional development of Health and Safety legislation relating to Estate Management and a qualification from a professional body such as NEBOSH or IOSH would be advantageous for this position. Proficient in delivering professional estate management service across a diverse range of sites located within a wide geographical area, you will possess the excellent communication skills required to confidently lead on estate management requirements, working alongside internal teams and external stakeholders from site acquisition through to disposal and youll understand how to manage a busy workload whilst demonstrating you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative and inclusive way.
