Come grow with us Job Requirements: Alkegen Widnes is a full- sized manufacturing process plant operating 365 days on a full 24 / 7 production basis, consisting of two fibre producing manufacturing units. This exciting role for an Engineering Technician will need to be capable of working with the minimum amount of supervision, self-managing their work load as well as often being the sole technical resource on site. Capable of working from a plan covering planned, preventative, predictive and Reliability Centred Maintenance across all maintenance disciplines (EC & I & Mechanical). Has good level of communication skill both verbal & written. This role is for a 12 hour 4 on/4 off position, with an average of 42 hours per week. Responsibilities: - Maintain, and troubleshoot all systems including power distribution, automated material handling equipment, Steam boilers, and all other operational equipment - Electrical, Instrumentation & control, mechanical, building and structural equipment and systems. - Maintaining Production equipment, Material handling equipment and Dust collection equipment - Electrical controls, PLC's,VSD's Servo motors, HMI, Motor control - Experience in preventive maintenance (PPMs) - Use power and hand tools to perform a variety of tasks including machine repair, electrical, electronic, and maintenance. - Lubrication Basics - Review and complete work order assignments. - Respond to verbal or written work assignments from Maintenance Supervisor, or other personnel as required during back shift/weekend coverage. - Inform supervisor of work in progress. - Independently observe, report, and correct facility and equipment discrepancies. - Checks for safety hazards, takes corrective action to eliminate safety hazards. - Maintain applicable logs, records, equipment history folders, and equipment operation and maintenance manuals in an accurate and comprehensive manner. - Perform any necessary task or assignment needed to ensure consistent service. Qualifications/ Experience: - Electrically Biased engineer with Mechanical skills - Experience in a manufacturing environment - Ideally have completed a recognised apprenticeship - Preferably qualified to HNC Widnes is a full- sized manufacturing process plant operating 365 days on a full 24 / 7 production basis, consisting of two fibre producing manufacturing units, supported by all the necessary plant services such as compressed air, steam boilers, process water, gas, electrical - power systems etc. standard in Electrical Engineering or have IEE Regulation certified (18th Edition) Ideally have completed a recognised apprenticeship - Preferably someone with Electrical Furnace Power and Temperature Control - Thyristor 'Burst Firing' and Element Changes, Emerson Delta V DCS Systems, CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) - Capable to operate fork-lift - Capable to operate MEWP./ Man Lift - CompEx Dust and gas trained - Steam boiler experience - Minimum of 5 years experience would be preferential.
