What you can add: Provide a supportive role to all members of the theatre team in the delivery of patient care Prepare the theatre for the operating list Complete forms and electronic records as appropriate to each case, ensuring that these are accurate, legible and complete. Assist with gowning and gloving, opening of packs/instruments/sundries and pour lotions Assist in the safe transfer and positioning of patients between the anaesthetic room/theatre/recover Perform the duties of a circulating assistant. Clear and clean theatre and equipment between cases Maintain stock levels in theatres and carry out stores management Maintain stocks of linen/theatre clothing Perform some domestic/housekeeping duties Contribute to the implementation of competencies, policies and procedures of the unit Following orientation & training act as supervisor to learner support workers and as support to other inexperienced theatre staff Participate in the provision of a 24-hour emergency service for trauma The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above. What you'll need: Experience:- Minimum of 6 months Acute HCSW UK (Private, NHS or Armed Forces) hospital/hospice experience within the last 2 years. OR Currently studying General/Adult Nursing (Student Nurse) and completed a minimum of 12 weeks clinical placements.* Qualifications:- Good level of Maths and English. NVQ in either Operating Department Support or General Healthcare or willing to work towards (NB the Trust has a training programme for HCAs/TSWs to achieve this) *Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
