We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a lovely SEN School in West London. This role will involve working closely with ASC students, providing them with the support they need to thrive academically and socially. With small class sizes of 6-8 students per class, you will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and truly make a difference in their lives.
This is a full-time, long-term role starting immediately, offering stability and the chance to grow within the school community. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the classroom, working alongside the teacher to ensure that students with ASC receive the individualised support they require to succeed.
Please note that personal care may be involved in this role, as some students may require assistance with their daily routines. Your compassion, patience, and understanding will be invaluable in providing a safe and nurturing environment for these students.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant will include:
1. Supporting students with ASC in their academic and social development
2. Assisting the teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities
3. Providing one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional help
4. Encouraging independence and fostering a positive learning environment
5. Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher
6. Assisting with personal care tasks, such as toileting and feeding, if necessary
7. Collaborating with other staff members and professionals to ensure the best possible support for students
