Senior Facilities Manager - Winchester Summary INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Facilities Manager in the London & South East region. You’ll focus on excellence across the Facilities Management (FM) teams in the region and really drive the continuing development of the profession. Your understanding of all aspects of hard and soft facilities management, combined with your talents as a leader and communicator, will enable you to really make a difference. You’ll be sharing knowledge and experience, and become a regional focal point for facilities management teams, working with other specialist disciplines to find solutions to a wide range of challenges. What it's like to work here You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors and project managers, you’ll be working with others to help make things happen. As this role covers the London & South East region, your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust consultancy office to your home. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week. Reporting to the Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll work closely with the Facilities Managers who report directly to the General Managers at each property. You’ll also have a strong relationship with our centrally based Head of Facilities Management, as well as regional Building Surveyors, Operational Risk Business Partner, Contract Manager, Climate and Environment Advisors and network with of other senior managers across the region. What you'll be doing You’ll work with the facilities teams based at properties across the region to support and develop them, strong levels of compliance and embed facilities management best practice. You’ll be sharing skills and knowledge so they can deliver excellent hard and soft facilities management. Your work will help ensure the places we care for can operate effectively and safely, ensuring consistent ways of working whilst maintaining the individual nature of each of the places. You may well be asked to get involved with other projects / support project boards and work closely with the property operations teams. Who we're looking for Experience as a Facilities Manager with relevant vocational experience or professional qualification Comprehensive experience of technical, compliance and risk management aspects of facilities management with extensive knowledge of Health, Safety (including CDM) and environmental regulations and wider applicable legislation Experience with risk assessments and procedures in relevant areas such as emergency response, fire, security and maintenance activities Experience of priority identification and forward planning of larger repair and maintenance needs such as boiler or roof replacement Experience of procuring work from consultants and contractors and managing the process (including writing client briefs and other project documentation) Experience of listed and historic buildings with an ability to review technical proposals for smaller repair and maintenance works Demonstrable ability to work closely with colleagues in all positions across the region in a joined up way to deliver strategy aspirations and form networks The package The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart.
