About the Role Responsible to the Donor Relations Manager, you’ll play an integral part in developing and delivering a strategy to steward principal gift level donors. You’ll be working on projects that will be deployed across the Development and Alumni Engagement team as a means of improving donor retention and inspiring existing donors to give at a higher level. You’ll project manage donor relations and donor cultivation communications of the highest quality, such as bespoke reports, thank you letters, priority project communications, press releases, videos and social media activity, and our annual suite of impact reports. You’ll also lead specific stewardship projects and initiatives in support of the Philanthropy Team. In this role you’ll be required to work within a hot-desking space within the Development and Alumni Engagement team on campus and work remotely in accordance with our hybrid working policies. We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so. About You We’re looking for an effective communicator and skilled storyteller with project and stakeholder management experience, who will work closely and collaboratively with staff across the department and university to deliver an innovative and comprehensive donor relations and stewardship programme. Person Specification Communications or Marketing qualification (desirable). Previous Experience Be able to demonstrate experience of building and maintaining constructive professional relationships with a wide range of people over an extended period of time. Demonstrate where you have worked collaboratively to achieve a goal, project or contract success. Experience managing a major strategic project/programme from conception to successful delivery, to timeframe and budget. Experience that includes: Working in a target driven environment. Producing high quality published materials. Stakeholder management. Donor/customer care. Running events. Working across a complex stakeholder environment. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of the principles of donor management. Knowledge of the functions and best practices of Development and Alumni Engagement teams. (desirable) Understanding how to manage stakeholders across a complex environment. Sense of protocol, and how to design communications that appeal to our donor community. Project Management experience, and ability to deliver complicated assignments to deadline and on budget. A good problem solver with the ability to work laterally to resolve fundraising challenges across departments. Demonstrates self-awareness and understands how to bring others with them to overcome a collective challenge. Demonstrates professionalism at all times. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work constructively and effectively with all University staff. A high level of written and oral communication and confident presentation skills.
