Syntax Talent Solutions is working with a Private Equity backed firm in the renewable energy industry to secure a Sr Financial Analyst to join our team in Bethesda, MD. This role is open due to internal promotion and company growth! The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, Power Query, SQL, database management, and financial modeling. This individual will be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis and reporting to support our business operations and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain complex financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
2. Utilize Power BI to create interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
3. Use Power Query to clean, transform, and analyze large datasets from various sources.
4. Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
5. Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
7. Prepare and present detailed financial reports and presentations to senior management.
8. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
9. Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
10. Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CFA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis or a related role.
3. Proficiency in Power BI, Power Query, SQL, and database management.
4. Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to build complex models from scratch.
5. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
9. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong organizational and time management skills.
