Our client, a Business Recovery / Insolvency practice based in Oldham, is looking for a new Full time Accounts Assistant to join their growing team. This role will be a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience in Insolvency Accounting and already has some experience in all-round bookkeeping/accounting either through hands on experience or a qualification such as an A level or degree in Accountancy. Full training will be provided and a study support package is on offer too, for AAT/ACCA or an equivalent qualifications. The role will join a small pre-appointment team of 5 staff in a 15 people practice. They use a bespoke accounting software so full training will be given. There may be occasional visits to clients premises so a car will be essential. Assignment Details Day to day bookkeeping Bank reconciliations Insolvency work Processing invoices Recording receipts and payments Preparing and checking ledger balances To communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with clients Client record keeping Other duties consistent with the grade as directed. Skills required Previous bookkeeping / accounting experience is essential, either hands on or via qualifications ( A level Accounting / Degree in finance ) Good General IT skills - MS word, excel, email, social media etc. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent organisation and time management to ensure deadlines are met Able to work on your own as well as part of the team (given guidance) Plenty of common sense Ability to work well under pressure
