About the role
The Account Director role within Global Marketing offers an exciting mix of client partnership and team mentorship, where no two days will be the same. You’ll have the opportunity to work across accounts which are global, creative, and truly strategic, and you’ll be part of a smart and committed team.
As an Account Director at Avalere Health, we’ll expect you to be a driving force for your accounts. We’d want you to be always looking ahead, ‘steering the ship’ and ensuring that everyone’s playing their role in ensuring the account is heading in the right direction. You would need to be commercially savvy, both in your decision-making and in your abilities to spot new opportunities.
You will be able to build trusted, strong relationships with your clients and the teams internally, so that the agency can deliver upon its best work and truly ‘hand it over proud’. Our Account Directors are ambassadors for Avalere Health, and their positive, problem-solving attitude creates many opportunities for brilliant work.
What You'll Do
* Take a leadership role within your brand teams by supervising the development, execution, and production of all tactical programs from start to finish.
* Work between departments, ensuring culture is maintained, and implementation is assured.
* Own the relationship with the client, consistently adding value, questioning, and challenging appropriately to optimize communication.
* Help monitor workflow and alert Directors of any short or long-term needs to ensure smooth workflow.
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of client business strategy and marketing model, and the communications necessary to deliver against them.
* Contribute to the strategic direction of the account and ensure all day-to-day activities align to the brand strategy.
* Demonstrate a strong ability to manage multiple clients and projects.
* Identify organic growth opportunities and confidently present ideas to Directors and your brand teams.
* Provide support and backup to Directors on all accounts & new business opportunities.
* Take responsibility for brand finances, including accurate budgeting, billing, forecasting, and financial tracking & management, ensuring profitability for the agency, and understanding of decisions on costs and profit.
* Understand the remit of Group companies and highlight cross-selling opportunities.
* Actively manage conflict and solve problems to resolve issues quickly, escalating issues to Directors appropriately.
* Lead by example, displaying excellent interpersonal skills.
* Empower and provide guidance to team to manage projects.
* Take part in the development, training, and motivation of the team.
* Demonstrate support of company goals and mission.
About You
* Minimum 4 years of experience.
* Pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably within a healthcare communications agency.
* Excellent presentation and writing skills.
* Passion for healthcare and communications.
* Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes and rules.
* Organize own time to achieve deadlines, prioritize tasks within given time frames.
* Clear communicator, honest and fair with colleagues.
* Strong client-facing skills with the ability to listen intently and ask in-depth questions to determine client needs, foster trust, and build long-term client relationships and partnerships.
* Strong understanding of the multi-disciplinary approach to client service, and their specific role across accounts and scenarios.
* Know when to ask for help.
* Communicate ‘bad news’ constructively, without de-motivating the team.
* Identify own training and development needs.
* Always act with integrity.
