Would you like to work with us to communicate with our residents, businesses and staff, contributing to the wellbeing and prosperity of the Hyndburn community? You’ll get involved in a wide range of campaigns – events, health promotion, updates on our key projects and much more.
We’re looking for someone with great creative, organisational and administrative skills to support our Communications Manager. A typical day might see you arranging photographs for a civic event, sending press releases out to our media contacts, liaising with a printing company over some posters, creating and scheduling social media content for the week, or making sure invoices are up to date.
You don’t need experience of working in a communications role. You do need to be a great communicator who’s responsive and able to work at pace: you’ll have great attention to detail and a strong customer service ethos. You should be familiar with using social media and be able to learn new software applications quickly. You’ll genuinely care about the reputation of the Council and the wellbeing of Hyndburn’s residents, and you’ll understand how our corporate communications activity supports this. You’ll work with colleagues at all levels as well as elected members, community groups and contractors, and we’ll be able to trust you with confidential information. This is a varied role at the very heart of the Council, with great opportunities to learn new skills as part of a small friendly team.
If you are passionate about delivering results as we are, and if you want a job where you can be part of a team that’s making a real difference, we’d like to hear from you.
Closing Date: 12 noon Friday 6th December 2024
