Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant – Tameside
Do you have experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviours? We are seeking a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Tameside. In this role, you will support students with a range of behavioural needs, helping them to engage in their learning and manage their emotions effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted support to students with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management strategies
* Work with students individually and in small groups, helping them to regulate their behaviour and engage with the curriculum
* Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt lessons and classroom activities to meet the needs of students with behavioural difficulties
* Monitor students' progress and behaviour, maintaining detailed records and providing feedback to staff and parents
* Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe and valued
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Experience working with students with challenging behaviour, ideally in an educational setting
* Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff
* Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students in their emotional and social development
* The ability to remain firm yet compassionate when managing challenging situations

Start Date: ASAP
Salary: From £85 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
