Job summary The role is responsible for the provision of finance business partnering services and decision support to the Research Delivery Team of Cardiff & Vale University Health Board. Main duties of the job This position is managerially responsible to the Research Delivery Team with professional responsibility to the Corporate Finance team, which provides professional financial advice, support and information for the activities of the Health Board to enable it to effectively and proactively set and manage its budgets and finances to ensure the achievement of financial targets and plans. The post holder will report to the R&D Manager, Cardiff Joint Research Office and will be expected to work closely with researchers to provide support in the delivery of the R & D and Finance agenda. To provide support into the financial and business planning processes within the Health Board to ensure that the financial implications of R & D studies are fully identified and understood. The key elements of this post will include production of accurate monthly budget holder reports, annual outturn forecast, ad hoc costing work and supporting and advising budget holders/ external funders on all financial matters including investigating financial enquiries. The post will be key to integrating the annual R & D plan within the IMTP, financial targets and budgets. The post will assist the R & D manager in the performance management of Directorate R & D budgets and the production of the monthly return to Healthcare Research Wales.
