A Maintenance Technician with at least 5 years of property maintenance industry experience is needed to join the team at this leading housing, construction, investment, and property lettings company based in Birmingham on a full-time basis. They are a privately run property company with a portfolio comprising mainly studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments within Birmingham City Centre and the regions of Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Swadlincote, and Burton. The properties that they service include private tenanted apartments, houses, and blocks, including communal areas and grounds. (DBS checks are required.) This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career with a well-established company About the Role This is a field-based role covering Birmingham and the Midlands region and will accept and review applicants living anywhere in this service delivery area. A company van will be supplied; however, applicants will need to meet their insurance requirements. They must also own tools. The company will provide some plant and equipment. The applicant is expected to be competent and proficient in using a smartphone (provided) to interact with their office systems and fellow employees. All jobs will require you to take photos/videos and write a job report on the mobile system. Key Responsibilities: Plumbing - Fitting bathroom suites, changing taps, repairing toilets Finding and tracing leaks Patching and boarding to repair leak damage Installing bathroom cladding Carpentry & joinery - Fitting doors, stud work, floor joists, floorboards Basic tiling and grouting Sourcing and installing parts/managing van stock for future jobs Repairing locks, doors, windows and converting euro locks Attending to heating issues and being able to relay helpful information to further engineers Simple drainage issues (specialist subcontractors used if appropriate) Required Skills: Proficiency in various carpentry and joinery techniques Plastering - be competent in patching plaster; more would be beneficial but not expected Up-to-date relevant industry-related knowledge Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills Ability to quickly assess the most efficient way to carry out work whilst maintaining high standards Be able to read and write English to a high standard A full UK driving licence Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Be a good team member Required Experience: Minimum 5 years in the property maintenance industry Proven experience as a multi-trade or in a similar role within housing repair and maintenance Benefits: Annual discretionary bonus based on performance A Company Van will be provided Sounds interesting?
