Casagrande are looking for an Apprentice Engineering Fitter to join their team in the workshop/yard/stores. You will be liaising with customers over service and operational issues with our equipment as part of this position.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Occasionally assisting with repair of machines both on site and in our yard
* Occasional travel throughout the UK and Ireland in company vehicle (supervised)
* Assisting with refurbishment of secondhand machines ready for resale or hire
* Inspections of machines in readiness for sale or to check for warranty issues
* Management and health and safety responsibility for the operation of our yard and workshop including the equipment
* Building strong relationships with customers and managing their expectations when dealing with maintenance issues
* Answer office telephones when required and generally assist others with ad hoc needs
* Regular assistance with the upkeep of company premises
* Deal with customer phone and e-mail enquiries for spare parts, search spare manuals for correct parts and, if necessary, consult with service staff to ensure correct identification of parts required
* Ensure the stock room is tidy and parts labels in order
* Assist with annual stock take
* Assist with maintaining company’s buildings, fixtures and fittings
* Cover for both Spare Parts Manager and Service Manager when needs be

* Reading, interpreting and understanding the component or assembly specification, diagrams, drawings and work instructions.
* Planning component or assembly task – materials, tools and equipment.
* Preparing work area for component or assembly task; sourcing required resources, tools and equipment.
* Carry out relevant planning and preparation activities before commencing work activity and know how to source required resources and interpret detailed drawings, specifications and job instructions.
* Checking tools during and after task completion; identifying and reporting defects.
* Measuring and testing, checking or inspecting component or assembly for example; use of micrometers, verniers, multimeters, voltmeter.
* Problem solving; analysing the issue and fixing the issue where appropriate.
* Applying improvement techniques; recommending or implementing solutions where appropriate.
* Communicating with colleagues or customers (internal or external).
* Completing component or assembly documentation for example job instructions, drawings, quality control documentation.
* Reporting work outcomes or issues.
* Restoring the work area on completion of the activity; returning any resources and consumables to the appropriate location and house-keeping.
* Disposing of waste in accordance with waste streams; re-cycling, re-using where appropriate.
* Operating within limits of responsibility.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
* A Min of 5 GCSE's inc Science, English & Maths (grade 4-9 (C-A*))
