We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Featherstone, a category C Prison located in Wolverhampton.
HMP Featherstone is a male prison with a population of 678 males; this is a training prison with a layout of 7 wings.

You will be based in a team of 4 consisting of Pharmacist, Pharmacy Tech, and Pharmacy Assistants. The pharmacy hatches are based in the central area and on the wings.
Hours
This role is a permanent 37.5 hours per week covering shifts Monday - Sunday:
Monday - Friday: 7.30am - 5.30pm
Weekends: 8.30am - 5.30pm
Salary
This position is full-time; you'll receive an annual salary between £28,247.00 - £32,346.00 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main Duties of the Job
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Provide outstanding quality based patient-centred care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
* Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
* Make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications
Essential
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
Desirable
* Experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
