Looking for a career where what you do truly matters? Whether you're just starting out or already working in care, now’s your chance to specialise, grow, and make a lasting impact.
Within our South West services, we support over 35 autistic individuals across Lanark, Biggar, and Carluke. We’re on the lookout for Autism Practitioners - our name for support workers who go above and beyond - to join our team and help people live life on their own terms.
As an Autism Practitioner, you’ll empower autistic people to:
* Build independence and confidence
* Get involved in community and social activities
* Access work placements and volunteering opportunities
* Maintain their own homes and make everyday decisions
You’ll also:
* Create personalised support plans that reflect real aspirations
* Work closely with families, professionals, and partners
* Build strong, meaningful relationships with the individuals you support
We believe in potential over perfection. If you’re compassionate, collaborative, and ready to learn, we’ll provide you with full autism-specific training and mentorship. This is a fantastic step for anyone looking to build a meaningful career in social care.
Why Scottish Autism?
We're proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
* Sector-leading training from day one
* Fully funded SVQ qualification
* Pension scheme (up to 9% employer contribution)
* We also cover the full cost of your PVG & SSSC registration
Working Hours
Our services run 24/7, so flexibility for evenings and weekends is important - but your schedule will always be planned in advance.
We actively welcome applicants with lived experience of autism. If you're ready to be a changemaker, we’d love to hear from you.

We value diversity and welcome applications from those with lived experience of autism.
