Ward Clerk position on a busy but friendly gastroenterology ward at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, Kent. Main duties include working as a team member within the work environment carrying out assigned tasks involving the indirect care of patients in support of, and supervised by the ward manager. We are looking for applicants to be able to work within a team providing vital administration cover for the unit, which will include the booking of transport, coordination of outpatient procedures, and ordering of supplies. IT knowledge and EKHUFT systems experience are essential.
Working with a large friendly team to ensure that patients are safely admitted, transferred, and discharged accurately.
Answering the phone from different departments, members of the multi-disciplinary team, and relatives of patients on the Unit, providing a professional response at all times.
Having good knowledge of the various admin systems that are in use within the Trust (Training will be provided).
Responsible for self, allocated workload, and time management.
Directly managed by the Ward Manager and accountable to the unit.
