Technical Sales Engineer / Estimator

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + potential £5,000 performance-related bonus
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:
H&B Recruitment are working with a well-known client seeking a qualified and experienced Technical Sales Engineer/Estimator to join their team. This role involves selling M&E services and requires a strong background in estimating, as well as procuring new business opportunities in both the manufacturing and fabricating workshop and field service activities.
Key Responsibilities for Technical Sales Engineer:
1. Attend customer sites to scope, measure, and qualify materials from engineering drawings/specifications
2. Produce quotations, pricing, and tender bids
3. Maintain communication with clients throughout the process
4. Achieve monthly sales targets
5. Follow sales action plans and strategies
6. Resolve customer complaints effectively
7. Conduct proactive sales calls to generate more sales
8. Attend weekly sales meetings
9. Manage client relationships end-to-end for an excellent customer experience
10. Promote the business brand consistently
11. Ensure timely delivery of information
What We Need From You for Technical Sales Engineer:
1. Experience in sales/estimation within a similar engineering or manufacturing environment
2. Ability to produce quotations and conceptual designs/sketches
3. Highly literate and numerate, with commercial acumen
4. Confidence in dealing directly with decision-makers and customers
5. Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office, CAD software, and other sales tools
6. Flexible and adaptive to changing requirements
7. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
8. Focus on quality and the ability to emphasize its importance
9. Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking
Desirable and Technical Skills for Technical Sales Engineer:
1. Experience in an estimating role
2. Understanding of technical drawings, manufacturing methods, and engineering principles
3. Industry experience in machining and fabrication services
4. Good market knowledge
5. Ability to strengthen customer relationships and develop new business opportunities
6. Skill in making presentations to promote new products and services
7. Competence in compiling quotations and sales specifications
