Main Purpose:
As a Lead Mechanical Engineer at Thalia Waste Management, you will provide essential technical support to the Operations Team, focusing on diagnosing and rectifying mechanical failures, performing Planned and Reactive Maintenance, and executing mechanical works as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define discipline activities, deliverables, and schedules in line with contract requirements.
* Identify and manage engineering scope changes and control processes.
* Verify effectiveness of working instruments, project execution, and job progress.
* Solve complex problems and communicate solutions effectively.
* Act as a technical reference for specialists (Burner, Valve, Turbine, Hydraulic, CHP, etc.) and designers.
* Monitor and report progress, including control of man-hours and delivered documents.
* Coordinate and verify design changes and their implementation.
* Check and sign all produced documents, including design reports, technical specifications, and drawings.
* Provide technical support to the site.
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures.
* Carry out responsibilities under the Site Safety Rules as a Nominated Person.
* Develop and implement engineering procedures, instructions, RAMS, and guidance documents.
* Support scheduled and unscheduled outage activities to ensure mechanical works are completed safely and efficiently.
* Complete accurate maintenance reporting within the CMMS.
* Assist in identifying failure modes for all apparatus (RCA).
* Collect data and produce reports.
The Person
Qualifications:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Extensive experience and sound engineering judgment.
* Proven track record of delivering technically challenging projects.
* Ability to produce and review high-quality technical reports.
Skills:
* Practical understanding of Health & Safety in electrical engineering through construction, operation, inspection, and maintenance.
* Experience with electrical installation systems for domestic and industrial premises.
* Technical leadership and mentoring abilities.
* Ability to produce technically sound design solutions, including all associated reporting and cost estimating.
