Central All Age Eating Disorder Team (Community-based)
Temporary 12 month contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCPC registered band 7 Dietitian to join the Central All Age Eating Disorder Team, based in Preston and Chorley.
Our vision is to provide non-judgmental timely support for eating disorders for all ages.
We are looking for a professional who will provide a high quality, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic service to community services, focusing on providing dietetic support to young people and adults with eating disorders.
The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary team setting to deliver a specialised dietetic service to the Central team, which includes clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, specialist practitioners, CBT therapists, family therapists, and admin. The post holder will also be part of a wider eating disorder dietetic team within the service that offers additional clinical supervision and support.
Main duties of the job
1. Maintain a high standard and undertake a comprehensive dietetic assessment of patients with complex presentations using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
2. Assess the individual physical, psychological, and emotional needs of the patient and work in conjunction with other professionals to deliver appropriate care.
3. Be competent in a range of service-relevant clinical dietetic procedures.
4. Request and interpret appropriate investigations to monitor and manage patients.
5. Provide advanced specialist dietetic treatment including assessing and reviewing medication, in accordance with legislation and treatment guidelines.
6. Anticipate care needs and develop individual lifestyle management plans ensuring that patient values, beliefs, and views are reflected.
7. Proactively monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of agreed care management plans.
8. Contribute specialist knowledge to the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Person Specification
Education
* Honours Degree or equivalent in Nutrition and Dietetics approved by the BDA/Health Professions Council.
* Health Professions Council registered Dietitian.
* Evidence of relevant post-graduate specialist clinical education or equivalent experience.
Knowledge
* Advanced clinical knowledge relevant to the care environment and evidence of evidence-based practice.
* Awareness of own strengths and limitations.
* Knowledge of relevant national policies and guidance including MEED and NICE.
Experience
* Demonstrate a programme of learning involving additional theoretical or conceptual knowledge acquisition.
* Thorough knowledge of the development and maintenance of Eating Disorders and its physiological, psychological, and medical aspects.
* Well-developed skills in motivational and behavioural change using various approaches.
