Job Description
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team, as a finance Apprentice. You will be responsible for maintaining the financial records, including processing invoices, payments and receipts and ensuring the procurement system is kept up to date.
You will build your bookkeeping knowledge with a level 3 AAT qualification.
Duties And Responsibilities
As an apprentice you will work at a company and get hands-on experience. You will gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Allocate payments from all the bank accounts
* Importing all credit card payments and ensuring all receipts are obtained
* Creating new suppliers
* Processing invoices and ensuring a purchase order has been raised for the corresponding invoice
* Create payment runs for review
* Process customer refunds
* Maintaining the petty cash spreadsheet and obtaining receipts
* 6 hours per week will be dedicated to studying towards your AAT qualification

Person Specification
* Organised, efficient and able to multi-task and prioritise to meet deadlines
* Able to work in a fast-paced constantly changing environment
* First rate communication skills
* Keen eye for detail
* Previous experience in using accounts and procurement software, in particular iCompleat and AccountsIQ would be preferable
Position Details
* Type of employment: 18 Month Fixed Term
* Salary: £18,000 per annum
* Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM) (Some weekend and evening work may be required)
* Location: Based at our Oxford office (OX4), with flexibility for some working from home
* Holidays: 32 days of annual leave per year, inclusive of public and bank holidays
* Reports to: Financial Controller
