Job summary Children's Community Respite Support Worker Band 2: £23,615 per annum Permanent, Full-Time Position (37.5 hours per week) We are looking for a fun-loving, enthusiastic support worker to join our dedicated Children's Community Nursing Team, who care for children and their families in a range of community settings. The successful applicant will be working as part of our Children's Community Nursing service and will be supporting the delivery of respite for children with life threatening and life limiting conditions, within the child's home, Children's Ward, Mountbatten Hospice and other community settings. Applicants will ideally have experience with working with children with complex needs and/or some experience in providing personal care including manual handling, and must hold a valid driving licence. You will have excellent communication abilities across a range of ages and abilities. Team player skills are essential in this role including the need to be flexible and adaptable as the working hours are based around the children we care for. The hours that we offer families fall between the hours of 8am-8pm Monday - Saturday and working patterns will reflect the service need. The Children's Community Nursing Team is dedicated to support continuous professional development with systems in place for Clinical Supervision and annual appraisal for all staff. Assist the patient and nursery nurse to carry out all activities of daily living, with both direct and indirect supervision as agreed in the parent contracts for respite.
