Our Production Journalists are critical to our overall success and this role will suit both emerging and experienced journalists who come to us with a knowledge of Wales and an ambition to create impactful, high-quality, distinctive journalism for television and online audiences and viewers of our streaming platform ITVX. In this role you will plan news stories; produce live television news bulletins and write and publish news stories for our online audiences. You’ll be working in a fast paced, 7 day a week environment and shift working is a key part of this role. We're committed to inclusivity and being representative of our audience. This role entails… Generating creative ideas for visual stories, finding new angles and creating original treatments. Taking on new skills to write, publish and curate news content in a live environment to the standard required by ITV News. Working well in a team, strong communication and being decisive. A passion for Wales and its people. Key Responsibilities Plan coverage, produce bulletins, curate and publish online news. Generate video content for our flagship streaming service ITVX Keep abreast of key developments within Wales and maintain a strong contacts base. Ensure material is published in line with ITV’s various legal and regulatory frameworks. Minimum role criteria. To be considered for a permanent opportunity your application will need to demonstrate your : Depth of journalistic experience (ideally more than 2 years). Candidates with less and who demonstrate a passion for Welsh journalism may instead be considered for a Fixed Term Contract Recent achievements across the breadth of skills needed for the role including the sourcing, planning, editing and writing of news content on different platforms. Strong understanding of Welsh audiences and the distinct nature of Wales and devolved structures. Self starter approach and your creativity and ideas to bring original content to our audience on air and online.
