IKEA Reading is looking to welcome a new Kitchen & Bedroom Measurement Technician to their growing team, in IKEA we call this a Service Fulfilment Operations Technician.
Based from the Reading unit, you will travel to customers' homes to provide a measuring service and act as the first point of contact for customers in their kitchens, bedroom or home planning journey. Whilst this is a field-based role, when not out on visits you will work in the store, liaising and building relationships with the store team and continuing to build product and planning knowledge.
WHAT WE OFFER
• The Start Date of employment will be: February 2025
• This role offers a starting salary of £28,420 per annum, based on competence & experience.
• Travel support will be provided and discussed at interview.
• 39 Hours per week, 5 shifts per week, alternate weekends, working hours will support the needs of the business.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
• Great understanding of the customer needs, demands, and expectations in the kitchen planning market and kitchen design principles.
• Can demonstrate knowledge of relevant IT systems / solutions / measurement tools within the kitchen planning service.
• Experience in using CAD or planner software is beneficial, however this will form part of your training package.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and flexible with strong multitasking abilities, capable of working independently whilst anticipating future needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Own car,
• A car owner, due to Health and Safety regulations, applicants are required to be at least 19 years of age and have held a valid and clean driver's license (Category B) for at least 24 months.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
• Review the existing kitchen layout and check against customers’ needs and expectations, ensuring all fundamental changes are noted.
• Accurately measure, interpret, and draw out installation space and upload the data promptly, within the IKEA processes and systems.
• Review appliance locations and new appliances to ensure they will fit, draw plumbing, gas, and electric line information on diagrams, noting and confirming any changes with the customer.
• Responsible to capture and feedback on any home defects to ensure future inclusion of any design requirements.
• Share and promote the installation journey and ensure proper handover and documentation is uploaded to support the Kitchen planner & plan.
• Review all project paperwork required and system access and obtain needed signatures from the customer.
• Support with ad-hoc customer visits during and post installation as required.
• Actively use approved personal safety system (i.e. People Safe) to ensure safety while visiting customers' home.
• Ensure we offer the customer the best possible Lead Time for a Measuring Appointment.
• Communicate effectively with Key Stakeholders in the Kitchen sales & design process.
• Working in the store when not out on visits, liaising and building relationships with the store team and continuing to build product and planning knowledge.
