Job Description:
We are searching for an experienced Finance Systems Accountant with essential Workday configuration experience for an 18-month FTC in Birmingham.
Overall job purpose
The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of Workday configuration experience, including a full implementation cycle for Workday Financial and Financial Planning. They should possess a relentless enthusiasm, an agile mindset, and a commercial approach.
This role requires in-depth systems and accounting knowledge to decode complex requirements and translate them into configured solutions. The candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving, prioritisation, and expectation management skills.
Working closely with internal finance colleagues and supported by a team of Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts, the role involves supporting the development of finance configuration design covering R2R, O2C, P2P, and Payroll, along with wider interdependencies.
Responsibilities
* Manage the configuration of Workday Finance and Financial Planning modules.
* Evaluate and propose adaptations to optimize configuration.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders.
* Identify risks and recommend solutions.
* Contribute to Workday training content for SMEs and internal specialists.
* Collaborate with the wider project team, especially within the Functional Design Stream.
Professional and Personal Qualities
* Minimum of 2 years of Workday implementation experience, including FINS.
* Qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to negotiate and prioritize conflicting demands.

* Strong IT skills, with advanced experience in Microsoft applications; experience in data manipulation and automation software is a plus.
