Role Description To be a technical home claim expert within LV, providing support to LV Home claims management through the handling of complex/large home claim losses along with analysing LV's home claims performance and monitoring industry trends. Supporting innovation change & continuous improvement, quality, people development, compliance & risk and management within Home Claims in respect of the handling of claims made against LV. Responsible for the day to day managing of Technical Claims over £150k and up to the value of £750k, including the identification and pursuit of recoveries. Act as a Technical referral point for less experienced team members for claims up to the value of £750k; assist the Senior Complaint Representative with any queries on Large Loss claims (over £50k), subsidence or complex claims. Supports the technical development of GI operational teams, through developing coaching, mentoring and training packages in conjunction with GI Training team. Monitor Home claims performance; identify trends and areas of improvement. In conjunction with Home Technical Manager & Supplier Relationship Manager monitor supplier performance to identify trends to ensure adherence to contract and identify areas of improvement or financial benefit. Complete monthly department and annual supplier audits identifying any leakage, trends, regulatory issues and highlighting any coaching needs. About you Essential knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience: •Extensive experience and proficiency in handling all types of major and complex Home Claims including fire, flood, escape of water and subsidence. This should include a sound knowledge of large loss reinstatement processes, building practice and regulations. •Have a good understanding of, and able to confidently apply, insurance policy terms, principles and law. Able to recognise opportunities for policy wording improvement and provide coherent recommendations to Underwriters •Able to review effectiveness of claim handling protocols and identify trends or changes that could improve the outcome of an individual claim or the overall process and make recommendations on improvements. •Ability to contribute towards best practice projects, claim philosophies, internal forums and technical updates to the wider business. •Good communication and presentation skills (internal & external).
