Faculty/Directorate
The Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities and its School of Humanities and Performing Arts are home to innovative and sector-leading courses, geared towards the practical application of knowledge, and informed by partnerships with the creative and cultural industries. The School is a research-intensive division of DMU, with respected scholars and practice-based researchers within the Institutes of Humanities and Political Studies, and Arts, Design and Performance.
Role
As Lecturer in Events and Tourism, you will be responsible for relevant teaching and supervision of students on undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as module leadership primarily in the area of events and in particular within the arts and festivals management subject area and secondarily in tourism. You will have a track record of industry experience including that of producing and promoting live events, complemented by any further related events and tourism industry experience, along with experience of teaching in a higher education setting. You will be expected to contribute to a range of both the taught aspects and fieldtrips offered as a part of the undergraduate and postgraduate events and tourism provision at DMU.

You will also be educated to at least master’s level and will have experience of teaching in a higher education setting. Your significant industry experience of working in the Creative Industries and their respective arts, events and related tourism sectors will inform your teaching and supervision within thematic areas such as events and festivals programmes with live cultural and arts activities, marketing in events and tourism as well as events and tourism entrepreneurship.
