We have a great opportunity for a personable and pro-active individual to join the Sixth Form Centre as a School Receptionist to cover a period of maternity leave starting in January 2025. Life in the Sixth Form at Kingston Grammar School is exhilarating, challenging, and rewarding. These two important years offer a chance for students to develop and grow as a person and KGS can help students to seize that opportunity by teaching a broad range of both academic subjects and life skills. With plenty of sporting and other co-curricular activities also on offer, we create an environment in which our students achieve superb examination results, whilst also developing their personal and leadership skills. Students leave KGS with the confidence and resilience to succeed and be happy in the outside world. The School Receptionist for our Sixth Form Centre is the first point of call for visitors to the Sixth Form Centre for students, staff and visitors. As a representative of the school the receptionist should be welcoming, personable, helpful and with a professional and friendly manner. In addition, it is essential that the person for this role is organised, able to multitask, work flexibly and have a ‘can do’ approach to work. The receptionist is also required to assist the Attendance Lead with cover for student registration and will have responsibility for other student related administrative duties. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of working in a customer service role, have excellent communication skills and be a team player with the initiative to work independently. The role is offered on a term time basis, working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8am until 4pm for a fixed term contract of up to twelve months. A competitive salary and generous benefits accompany this role. To apply, please submit your application form by 9 am on Friday 8th November 2024. The school reserves the right to commence the interview process at any time prior to the closing date so early application is recommended. Prior to interview, an online search will be conducted to identify any past or current incidents or issues that might affect your suitability to work with children and undertake this role. This is in line with guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education. Please note this online search will be carried out only on publicly available information and be limited to issues relating to your suitability to work with children and/or in a school environment. Issues that arise will not automatically be a bar to your employment at this school. Registered Charity No. 1078461
