Based at Welwyn Garden City Campus
We are looking for an enthusiastic Work Placement Assessor to join our Health and Social Care and Early Years team.
You will be required to maintain and build on employer forums in vocational curriculum areas within the college to secure work placements for the students, along with identifying and referring employer responsiveness opportunities.
You will help facilitate students to be adequately prepared for work experience, visits, or other employer activities, along with supporting students’ progression onto courses through visits to colleges and training providers.
You will also be required to assess students within the workplace against the awarding body’s criteria, undertake work placement visits, obtain feedback on performance and progress, and process associated records.
The role would also involve maintaining health and safety guidance and ensuring that any relevant legislation is complied with, delivering employability sessions, and running relevant workshops for Oaklands students.
Provide guidance and support to individual students and their parents on matters relating to work experience placement.
Processing DBS checks (Early Years and Health & Social Care).
Required Skills:
1. Excellent organisational, time management, and administrative skills.
2. Experience of working with external or internal customers.
3. Experience of multi-tasking and coordinating a variety of activities.
4. Good IT skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and confident in the use of Microsoft Outlook and the Internet/Intranet.
5. A successful track record of activity planning.
6. Experience or knowledge within the Health and Social Care or Early Years Industry.
7. Hold an assessor’s award or be willing to work towards the Assessor award in Health and Social Care or Early Years.
