About the role
We are looking for an experienced Cost Estimating and Forecasting Consultant to join our Management Consultancy Capability team at BMT. You will provide essential cost analysis and consulting services to support projects within the UK Defence and Security sectors, including Government departments. Your role will be crucial in ensuring cost-effective decision-making and the overall success of these projects.
As a Managing Consultant - Cost at BMT, you will:
* Apply advanced estimating techniques for complex procurement initiatives
* Support investment appraisals and conduct trade studies
* Perform cost-benefit analysis and assist in budget setting
While your main focus will be on cost consultancy, you may be expected to support other project management roles when needed. Our offices are in Bath and Bristol, and we offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Travel to customer sites across the UK will be required.
About you
To be successful in this role, you should:
* Have practical experience in cost estimating, using advanced techniques to ensure accurate financial assessments
* Be adept at using MS Excel for cost modelling and open to exploring other applications and AI tools
* Have experience working in client teams, influencing strategic decision-makers, and delivering practical solutions
* Possess strong soft skills important in Management Consultancy
* Be capable of presenting complex information clearly to stakeholders
* Be adaptable and skilled in various project management roles, ready to either lead or be part of a team
* Be prepared to support bid or other internal activities to foster business growth
Ideally, you are a member or are seeking membership, of an appropriate professional body and are committed to further professional development.
