Solicitor/Litigation Executive - Military
Location: Remote - Once a month travel to Manchester Office.
Salary: Competitive.
Simpson Millar is currently looking for an experienced Solicitor/Litigation Executive to develop and manage a mixed caseload of Military matters ensuring there is a focus on high value cases. In addition to managing a caseload, you will also conduct your own advocacy where appropriate.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and manage a mixed caseload of Military matters
2. Market and develop the Simpson Millar Military department
3. Effectively and efficiently conduct cases on behalf of clients in accordance with the overall policies and objectives of the firm
4. Develop local business to secure referrals
5. Participate in the development, marketing and success of the Military Department, to include developing the website business
6. Develop referrals from other established Partners who already refer to Simpson Millar
7. Conduct a high volume caseload of matters on behalf of clients as directed and in accordance with the Firm's file management and supervisory policy
8. Maintain a diary and bring up entries in accordance with the firm procedures
9. Work with a case management system, databases and normal office IT systems
10. Have detailed knowledge of relevant forms and procedures
11. Compliance with the firms Money Laundering Procedures
12. Compliance with the Data Protection Act
You will meet all external and internal KPIs as set by the firm whilst producing work which is consistently to an accurate and reliable standard.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years' post qualification experience of running a Military caseload
2. Interest and experience in conducting advocacy
3. Interest in and ability to develop links with potential referral organisations
4. Good business development skills
5. Good marketing skills
6. Good knowledge and understanding of Military work
7. Excellent IT skills
8. Good knowledge and understanding of procedures and protocol
9. Good practical skills, including proven negotiation skills
10. Good personal organisation and ability to adhere to strict time limits
11. Strong interpersonal skills
12. The ability to deal with individuals from all walks of life
13. The ability to prioritise work when necessary
14. The ability to provide the highest standards of client care
