Chalkhill Hospital is a modern unit located in Haywards Heath. We are the only NHS Tier 4 CAMHS. service in Sussex and offer a unique and rewarding experience supporting young people to recover at a critical time in their development so they have the best chance to succeed in life.
We are looking for experienced Healthcare Support Workers to join us. We are a caring, compassionate and creative team aiming to deliver outstanding care to all of our young people and their families.
We understand that looking after our staff's health and well-being leads to safer services and better experiences for our young people, and so actively promote supervision, reflection, training opportunities and team away days. This is a challenging but hugely rewarding role with lots of progression available to the right person.
We support the Nurse Associate training programme amongst other developmental opportunities.
Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Support Worker your main responsibilities will be to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and implement young people's care plans under the supervision of a registered nurse. For example, this may include supporting a young person to develop coping strategies to help reduce self-harm.
You will be required to communicate with patients, relatives and carers and assisting with clinical duties, including personal care and ensuring infection prevention and control standards are maintained.
You will also undertake personal care duties for service users in hospital, report patient's conditions to qualified staff and document care delivery in patients notes.
You will need to use your strong communication skills, attention to detail and motivation to constantly improve the way we work.

* Have a recognised qualification in an area related to the workplace or equivalent technical/life skills
