Working hours: 25 hours per week Interview Date: Friday 21 March 2025 The Salvation Army, Falkirk Corps, operates a busy Drop-in Monday to Fridays. It plays a major part of the weekly mission activities of the Corps bringing together homeless, those in addiction and lonely individuals offering fellowship, company, and good food. We are looking for a highly motivated individual. The successful applicant will shop for, prepare and cook good quality home-cooked food for up to 30 clients. Key Responsibilities: The post-holder will plan and cook healthy and nutritious menus cost-effectively for the Drop in, considering any nutritional and dietary requirements and customer opinion. Ensuring that current health and safety and environmental health and hygiene standards and other appropriate regulations and procedures are maintained within the kitchen (e.g. BFH / COSHH) and food storage is carried out to approved British standards. The successful candidate(s) will have: A good knowledge and experience in preparing, cooking and serving food in a commercial kitchen environment. The ability to influence others and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, programme participants and external stakeholders. Proficiency in English - it is important that the successful candidate understands the community’s needs. Basic IT literacy skills preferred but not essential.
