Purpose of the role overview
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects within scope, timeline, and budget, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The role requires a blend of project management expertise and technical knowledge to effectively coordinate cross-functional teams, communicate with technical stakeholders, and troubleshoot project challenges. This position will oversee all aspects of project delivery, including stakeholder management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
Accountabilities
Operational
1. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring adherence to organizational standards.
2. Coordinate with technical teams to understand project requirements, identify risks, and resolve technical challenges.
3. Ensure effective communication across stakeholders, maintaining clear and consistent updates on project progress, risks, and milestones.
4. Manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial accountability for projects.
5. Use project management tools and methodologies to track progress, document workflows, and ensure efficiency.
Compliance
1. Ensure that all projects are executed in compliance with organizational policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
2. Adhere to quality management principles, implementing processes that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
3. Monitor project deliverables to align with regulatory and compliance requirements, maintaining thorough documentation for audits.
Performance Expectations or KPIs
1. Deliver projects on time, within budget, and according to defined scope.
2. Achieve stakeholder satisfaction scores as measured by feedback and review processes.
3. Maintain a variance of no more than ±10% for project budgets.
4. Ensure timely identification and resolution of risks and issues, with proactive communication to stakeholders.
5. Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes, reflected in efficiency and team collaboration metrics.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
1. Proven experience in project management, preferably in a technical or IT-related environment.
2. Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
3. Technical literacy, with the ability to understand and discuss technical concepts with developers, engineers, and technical teams.
4. Experience in risk management, resource allocation, and budget management.
5. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Trello) and collaboration software (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams).
6. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities.
