About the Role
A well-established electrical engineering company is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team. This role is essential in the pre-construction phase, ensuring accurate cost estimates for electrical and BMS systems across commercial and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing bids, maximizing project profitability, and delivering cost-effective solutions that align with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse project plans and specifications to determine the full scope of electrical work.
* Identify potential risks and opportunities, providing strategic solutions.
* Collaborate with design teams to resolve discrepancies and incorporate client feedback.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, covering materials, labour, and equipment.
* Obtain and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations to secure the best terms.
* Conduct site visits with clients to discuss project requirements and scope.
* Participate in post-tender negotiations and project handovers.
* Work closely with project managers to assist in cost monitoring and control.
* Follow up on submitted bids and proposals, addressing client queries.
* Utilize estimating software to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices.
* Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 2 years of experience in an electrical estimating role.
* Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
* Proficiency in industry-specific estimating tools and Microsoft Excel.
* Experience with CAD software (preferred)
