Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint an ADHD Support Assistant to support at a Mainstream Secondary School within Chorley, Lancashire. This role requires someone with previous experience supporting children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and with an understanding of the strategies used to support children within the classroom to focus on their work and complete classwork.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the children to complete their work.
2. Help the children stay focused on the task at hand.
3. Remove any triggers for children.
4. Work closely with the class teacher.
5. Communicate with the additional support team.
6. Complete observations and pass these onto the class teacher.
7. Support the children to hit targets.
Essential:
1. Experience with ADHD.
2. Experience within secondary schools.
3. Knowledge of ADHD triggers.
4. Knowledge of ADHD support strategies.
5. Strong communication skills.
6. Patience.
