We have a brilliant opportunity to join DAS Law (part of ARAG UK) as an Associate in our Employment Team, to be based on a hybrid basis, either fully remotely or based from our central Bristol or Bedwas offices.
Who we are:
The Employment Team is made up of around 30 solicitors, paralegals and legal assistants. We are a dedicated and hard-working team and we work in a friendly environment with regular monthly social outings. We offer exceptional levels of responsibility and pride ourselves on our levels of supervision and internal career progression, including a detailed careers pathways programme. We have a strong values culture, which means you will be closely supported and mentored by your colleagues, learning to provide consistent and outstanding service to your clients.
What do we do?
The Employment department deals with all aspects of employment law including litigation and advisory work for both employees and employers. The type of work the team deals with on a day-to-day basis includes advising on unfair dismissal claims, discrimination, and whistleblowing. The work is very varied and no one case is the same as another.
As well as acting for employees and employers during the litigation process, we also provide advisory HR services, such as advising on employee handbooks and the drafting of employment contracts to support and guide businesses through the complexity of employment law requirements. The team also deals with its own advocacy.
We encourage early responsibility with a real emphasis on creating opportunities to promote our lawyers from within the team. This means you will gain real “hands-on” experience across a broad range of claims and defenses and will become an expert on employment law and negotiation and settlement tactics.
We would like to hear from candidates with employment litigation experience who can demonstrate the following knowledge and experience:
1. Excellent working knowledge of employment law and procedure;
2. The ability to run a caseload;
3. Excellent client care skills.
We believe in recruiting the best to work for us which is why we will commit to offering you generous remuneration and an attractive benefits package which will include:
1. 25 days holiday with the option to buy up to a further 5 days;
2. Company pension scheme with the option to increase contributions;
3. Group Income Protection for all employees;
4. Group Legal Protection for all employees;
5. A choice of either European Motor Assistance or Home Emergency Assistance;
6. Salary sacrifice benefits including Cycle scheme;
7. A comprehensive wellbeing programme including free eye tests;
8. Access to our employee discounts hub offering exclusive discounts across thousands of retail partners, including discounted gym memberships at over 3,000 gyms across the UK;
9. The option to join our Sports and Social club which organises discounted events such as theatre visits, wine tasting and shopping trips.
If you think you would be a good match for this role and can demonstrate some transferable experience, please apply, regardless of whether you meet all the criteria listed above.
