Willmott Dixon are looking to recruit a Trainee Building Services Manager to join our East Midlands team. The ideal candidate will be based in the East Midlands and be happy to undertake regular travel to our office and sites. An M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) Building Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems in our construction projects. These systems include heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, lighting, power distribution, fire protection, and other critical components that contribute to the functionality of a building. The role involves ensuring that M&E systems are designed, installed, and maintained to meet project requirements, safety standards, and regulatory compliance. As part of our trainee programme, you will focus on M&E building services but will also complete placements in other departments within our business including site management, design management and other areas of pre-construction to give you exposure of the construction process from start to finish. This provides you with broad construction experience and will help support you with your career in the future. You will get experience of delivering projects across multiple sectors and will work in a hybrid way from our offices and throughout our sites in the midlands.
We are open to candidates with mechanical or electrical experience or a relevant qualification, who are passionate to start a career in building services. Our 2-4-year programme will give you the valuable work experience to progress to an Assistant Building Services Manager. We welcome applications from skilled trades with electrical or mechanical experience, school and college leavers with A Levels, T levels or relevant electrical qualifications as well as Graduates who are passionate about building a career in mechanical and electrical in construction. Our management trainee programme is 2 to 5 years in duration (depending upon your entry point) and will give you the chance to earn while you learn and give you valuable work experience alongside part-time study for a relevant qualification that is paid for by Willmott Dixon. Upon graduation from the programme you will progress into an Assistant Building Services Manager role.,
