HTRC Metrology Technician
There is an exciting opportunity for a Technician to support Operations within the High Temperature Research Centre Metrology Department based in Coventry.
This role will involve supporting the manufacturing process from initial request through to delivery of components, including but not limited to:
1. Maintaining a safe working environment for one’s self and others in line with HTRC Health & Safety processes and procedures.
2. Execute efficient and effective inspection processes to ensure conforming and on-time delivery to our customers.
3. Following working processes whilst ensuring route cards and work instructions are followed without deviation.
4. Responsibility for the care of Metrology Lab equipment, including some preventative maintenance and asset care.
5. Supporting the manufacturing engineers in creating cost estimates, lead times and route cards
6. Contributing to continuous improvement and problem-solving activities
7. Supporting various activities required for the running of the Metrology department.
Person Specification
The successful candidate must have a level of technical knowledge that will allow them to contribute as member of the Metrology team.
Required:
8. BTEC/NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience
9. Experience in any Metrology / inspection techniques
Desirable:
10. Experience in any of the following data analysis software e.g., Polyworks, Volume Graphics, GOM inspect.
11. Experience in any of the following inspection acquisition techniques:
12. Tactile dimensional measurement e.g. first principles, CMM (MCOSMOS)
13. Non-contact data capture e.g. XCT, 3D optical scanning (GOM, Alicona)
