About the Role:
The Faculty of Science and Engineering combines a strong research culture with excellence in learning and teaching. Our Faculty is the largest in ARU with over 8,500 students studying worldwide. The Faculty comprises 530 staff and employer co-designed curricula across science, land-based and engineering disciplines.
Our interconnected campuses drive world-class interdisciplinary education and research, with digital innovation and sustainability at their core.

The Faculty is formed of five Schools:

Writtle School of Agriculture, Animal and Environmental Sciences
In addition to the Schools, our Faculty also houses the Department of Vision and Hearing Sciences and the Global Sustainability Research Institute.
As a member of our Faculty Executive team, the Deputy Dean will also contribute to Faculty-wide and University-level planning and development.
We are seeking a Deputy Dean (Education) to provide collaborative leadership in the areas of student experience and student outcomes, portfolio diversification (including apprenticeships and distance learning), and innovation in education. We are searching for an exceptional individual with a proven track record Senior leadership in HE including line management of staff, as well as academic planning and quality assurance experience. The ideal candidate will have a relevant Honours degree/professional qualification relevant to the faculty, PhD or Professional Doctorate, a Senior Fellowship of the HEA.
