Morrison Water Services is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Thames Water Capital Delivery Framework in South London.

As the Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our Commercial Team who are responsible for supporting the operations team during the life cycle of the project.
The Thames Water Capital Delivery Framework forms part of the regulatory Asset Management Period (AMP) of which we are in the final stages of AMP7 and progressing into AMP8 in March 2025 for a further 5 years. In AMP8 Thames Water plan to deliver schemes with total spend exceeding £250m on the Capital Delivery Framework. These schemes include small value high frequency works and larger schemes such as network mains rehabilitation and sewer upgrades. In this role focus will be on the delivery of Mains rehabilitation in the South London region with a planned spend of more than £100m across a number of South London DMA's (District Meter Areas).
As the Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring robust estimates align to scope and making allowances for risks and opportunities.
- Producing and maintaining Project cost to complete forecasts
- Working closely with the Project Delivery teams.
- Producing commercial performance reports together with cost and value positions.
- Ensuring actual costs are interrogated and managed.
- Providing reports on actual costs vs budget.
- Identifying underlying reasons for any cost variances & developing solutions.
- Ensuring that accurate records are kept & maintained so that financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available.
- Liaising with the project team to ensure any contractual notifications required are issued in accordance with the contract.
- Effective change control to maximise value and minimise exposure including pricing and substantiation
- Subcontractor planning, engagement and management.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Completed a degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS Accredited Course is desirable).
- Experience working for a Tier 1 Contractor
- Previous experience within the Water/ Utilities sector
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel
