VACANCY – OPERATIONS TEAM LEADER
Leprino Foods Ltd is seeking to appoint an Operations Team Leader at our Magheralin site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and delegation of duties to his/her team members to ensure the delivery of shift, daily and weekly production goals.
Reporting to the Cheese Production Manager, the successful candidate will be required to:
* Be the first point of contact for their team members, ensuring that there is regular and timely communication with the team and that the majority of issues are dealt with at the team level and where appropriate escalated to the relevant Manager.
* Provide a first point of contact for other functions outside of normal office hours and escalate any issues arising.
* Communicate regularly with the departmental manager on all current and potential future issues.
* By coaching and motivating, the Team Leader will enable his/her team to achieve agreed performance standards in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental.
* Work closely with his/her peer group to deliver the overall aims and objectives of the business.
* Allocate work, manage staffing levels, and ensure attendance, grievance, and disciplinary matters are dealt with in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Ensure that all team training needs are identified, monitored, reviewed, and development plans are put in place.
* Ensure timely and accurate records are maintained of all production adjustments, and that all operational checks are carried out and documented.
* Monitor all process controls on a continuous basis and ensure your team members carry out the necessary adjustments to maintain production within specification and minimize waste.
* Ensure Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
The successful candidate will have:
* GCSE pass level in Maths & English.
* Competency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* 1 - 3 years recent and relevant experience of shift supervision and team leadership in a production or manufacturing environment, with evidence of having monitored KPIs and introduced initiatives to ensure consistent achievement of production targets.
* Experience in using standardized work instructions.
* Knowledge of how safe working practices are applied and how a safe place of work (SPOW) can be enhanced through operator inclusivity.
* Carried out Risk Assessments and hazard elimination.
* Experience of working within a manufacturing environment where multiple workstations interact together to deliver an efficiently manufactured product.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Possess a calm approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
* Create and contribute to a high-performance culture within the team and strive for excellence.
* Champion continuous improvement.
* Ability to utilize resources effectively.
* Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
* Track record of having achieved “excellence”.
* Track record of being self-motivated.
* Evidence of a “Go and See” approach to managing the team/process.
* Experience of embracing change.
