Logistics Coordinator
Location: High Wycombe
Overview
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Logistics Coordinator to join our client's team in High Wycombe. This temp-to-perm role is ideal for someone with experience in manufacturing and logistics who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of finished products, managing B2C sales (eBay & Amazon), updating MRP systems, and overseeing logistics operations. The role also requires collaboration with Production and Office Planning teams to optimise efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Order Management
* Process and update works orders in the MRP system (Lakeview) upon completion.
* Publish weekly OTIF (On-Time In-Full) and strategic stock updates.
* Manage UK and international parcel shipments as required.
* Oversee and update strategic stock records.
* Organise and oversee the movement of finished goods from production to dispatch.
* Route-plan delivery schedules a week in advance and monitor driver performance.
* Ensure company vehicles are available and dispatches are arranged cost-effectively.
* Verify successful delivery and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Obtain logistics quotes for NPI (New Product Introduction) when requested.
* Liaise with waste management companies for collections (foam, cardboard, plastics, etc.).
B2C Sales (eBay & Amazon)
* List products for sale on eBay, manage inquiries, and ensure timely delivery
Stock & Workflow Management
* Work closely with Sales & Production Planning teams to maintain finished goods stock.
* Participate in quarterly stock takes.
* Review and manage incoming work orders, ensuring smooth workflow and minimising bottlenecks.
* Maintain accurate stock records and reduce wastage in the dispatch area.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards (ISO).
* Keep dispatch areas clean, organised, and free of hazards.
* Schedule maintenance and repairs for company vans, forklifts, and lifting equipment.
* Maintain HSE records, including ladder registers and compliance documentation.
* Stay updated on industry regulations, HSE guidelines, and road freight transport rules.
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead by example, sometimes working on machines to demonstrate best practices.
* Provide support and cover for the Production & Technology Manager when needed.
* Assist with additional duties across departments during peak periods or staff absences.
* Represent the dispatch team in meetings and contribute to process improvements.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience & Skills:
* Proven experience in logistics, manufacturing, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of UK geography and logistics best practices.
* Forklift truck license (or willingness to obtain one).
* Supervisory or leadership experience.
* Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn the company's MRP system (Lakeview).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
