Job description
Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the their Telecoms teams based out of Farnborough.
Our clients' Telecoms & Security business works predominantly within the UK's Critical National Infrastructure market, focussing on Defence, Water, Energy, Transport and Telecommunications sectors. They deliver multi-site security programs, and have expertise in the planning, design and delivery processes, in addition to CNI Security knowledge and experience, enables them to efficiently deliver fully integrated physical and electronic security programmes and portfolios of work on critical operational assets.
Responsibilities
1. Maximise margin recovery through Clients and Subcontractors accounts
2. Create and maintain profit motivation of the team, having regard for Client/Subcontractor relations
3. Optimise cash flow through external valuations and control of subcontractor accounts
4. Monitor Reserves/Work in Progress, and Subcontractors Payments
5. Provide assistance to Financial Department in the recovery of outstanding monies
6. Monitor both Main Final Account and Subcontractors Final Account progress
7. Monitor and facilitate the recovery of retention and the like
8. Ensure correct contractual procedures are operated for both Main Contracts and Subcontracts
9. Ensure that the site team is complying with contractual obligations
10. Monitor that subcontract conditions are 'Back to Back' with main contract conditions or with maximum risk transfer
11. Identify financial risk associated with non-compliance of contract conditions and report accordingly
12. Identify any special addition terms and conditions that should be incorporated in the subcontract agreement
13. Provide pre-contract advice to Estimating Department related to amended Terms and Conditions of Main Contracts and resource availability for forward workload
14. Claims preparation and recovery
15. Ensure that all necessary contemporaneous records and documentation are maintained for maximum recovery
16. Provide monthly Cost Value Reports and monthly Margin Analysis in conjunction with Line Management
17. Identify separately over/under valuation, maintenance reserves, speculative reserves and any management adjustments.
18. Identify and evaluate risk for example prolongation costs not recoverable together with any liability for LADS.
19. Forecast Out-turn Margin / Commercial Analysis / programme / progress in conjunction with Line Management & review monthly.
20. Forecast contract turnover in conjunction with Line Management and adjust as necessary.
21. Weekly Contract WIP and Debtor reviews with Quantity Surveyors and monthly collated reports for management
Skills/experience/qualifications
22. Experience within the construction/telecommunications industries and knowledge of the relevant standards.
23. Candidates must be willing to work toward obtaining a security clearance to DV for the role.
24. Previous experience on large scale defence/MoD projects is advantageous but not essential
25. Ability to establish strong, collaborative working relationships.
