About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and motivated PE Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport. This full-time role will begin after Easter to cover a long-term absence. The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and a commitment to developing students' physical and mental well-being through high-quality sports education.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and dynamic PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop their skills, confidence, and enthusiasm for physical activity.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
* Teach a variety of sports, promoting teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle.
* Encourage participation and enjoyment of physical activity among all students.
* Develop and implement lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
* Organise and oversee extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and school competitions.
* Ensure the safety of students during lessons, following all health and safety guidelines.
* Promote an inclusive learning environment where all students feel encouraged and supported.
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the PE curriculum and share best practices.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching PE at Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for sports education.
* Ability to deliver engaging lessons that motivate students to participate and excel.
* Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
* Experience in coaching and leading extracurricular sports activities is desirable.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
* Enthusiastic, adaptable, and dedicated to making a positive impact on students’ development.
