Junior Electrical Design Engineer - Building Services
Location: Manchester
Full-Time, Permanent
£45,000-£55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Manchester. As a key member of our building services engineering team, you will support the design and delivery of electrical systems for various projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Assist in designing and specifying electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and security systems.
* Prepare electrical schematics, layouts, and technical drawings using AutoCAD and other design tools.
* Support senior engineers with calculations for electrical load, voltage drop, and circuit protection.
* Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions and assist with project implementation.
* Evaluate designs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
* Collaborate with project teams to deliver integrated building systems.
* Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project proposals.
* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, standards, and trends in building services engineering.
About You
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and building services design.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software.
* Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and regulations.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
