We aim to offer ways for local people with drug and alcohol problems to become free from their dependence. We also want to reduce the problems that substance misuse causes to families, friendships, workplaces and communities in Northumberland.
Would you like to volunteer in a role welcoming visitors into our service, and supporting the team with general admin tasks? Our volunteers are often the first people our clients and visitors meet when they arrive, and play a crucial role in helping everyone feel welcome and at ease.
In this volunteer role, your tasks may include:
* Providing a welcoming meet and greet service to people attending NRP
* Answering internal and external phone calls, and transferring calls to team members
* Replenishing leaflets/resources
* Creating and maintaining displays in the waiting area/rooms
* Copying/printing resources for colleagues
* Updating electronic resources like PowerPoint slides
* Attending occasional community wellbeing events to promote our service.
About the role
Our service provides:
* Support with any physical, emotional or mental health needs
* Needle Syringe programme
* Recovery and detox programmes
* One to one and group therapy
* Social activities
* Education, training and employment opportunities
Our service is open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 4:30pm on Friday. Volunteers can volunteer for up to 15 hours per week. We are specifically looking for candidates with regular availability in the afternoons. Hours can be agreed with successful candidates based on operational needs and candidate availability - with the expectation of 1 - 2 half day shifts per week. Suggested hours - 12:30 – 4:30 / 5pm (Monday to Thursday), 9am – 4:00 / 4:30pm Friday.
